This is to inform the General Public that the sale of Application Forms for Admission into Ahmadu Bello University, School of Basic and Remedial Studies, Funtua for the 2022/2023 academic session has commenced on Monday, 6th February 2023. The guidelines for purchasing the form are presented hereunder:
i. Visit the SBRS site at sbrs.abu.edu.ng
ii. Click on the link, ‘Create Account’ or ‘Please Login’ if you have already created an account. In the account creation process, provide your surname, first name, and other names (if available). Then select your gender, provide an active email, then supply and confirm your password.
iii. Login now with your supplied email address and password
iv. Choose the program you want to apply for:
- Remedial (RS1, RS2, RS3, RS4)
- Basic or IJMB (BS1, BS2, BS3, BS4, BS5, BS6)
v. update your profile
- Biodata
- Contact
- O level
- Picture Upload
vi. Click the ‘Buy Form’ then click on ‘Pay Online’. You can then either ‘Pay’ online using your ATM Card or ‘Print’ the transaction page and take it to any commercial bank for payment.
ABU Remedial program
The ABU Remedial program generally lasts for Nine (9) months divided into two semesters. During this period, students go through intensive lectures from Mondays to Thursdays every week and a weekly C.A. test on Fridays
Catchment Area
The School is established by the Northern State Governments and is open to all interested applicants from the 19 Northern States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
Entry requirement
Candidates aspiring to gain admission to Ahmadu Bello University Zaria via SBRS’s Remedial program must:
- Successfully sit and pass the pre-admission test examined by SBRS at Funtua.
- Have obtained at least three (3) credits and two (2) pass in English Language, General Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Geography, and Physics in WAEC and or NECO.
Groups and Subject Combination
All successfully admitted and registered students are placed into one of the four (4) academic groups:- RS1, RS2, RS3, or RS4.
Each student is given a group by considering his/her intended feature carrier and the O-Level credits obtained. Courses in each group are:
- RS1:- Biology, Chemistry, and Geography
- RS2:- Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
- RS3:- Biology, Geography, and Physics
- RS4:- Chemistry, Geography, and Physics
Note:
English Language and General Mathematics are compulsory for all students.
BASIC (IJMB) Programme
The Basic (IJMB) program is an Advance Level Programme intended for candidates aspiring to gain admission into any Nigerian University through Direct Entry (DE).
The program last for twelve (12) months divided into two semesters. During this period, students go through intensive lectures from Mondays to Thursdays every week and a weekly C.A. test on Fridays.
The school’s highly equipped laboratories avail the students the opportunity of undertaking all the practicals required for the IJMB program.

Please what is the difference between IJMB and remedial program
The IJMB program is a 1 year program in which after the one year, Candidate can apply for admission into 200level through DE into any university of their choice. While the Remedial is a 9 months program, after successfully completing the program, Candidates can apply for admission into 100level in Ahmadu Bello university.
Can one apply for the remedial program and still buy post utme form. Or once you apply for the remedial you are ok to be admitted?
